November 2016 Update

Last month I started my update asking you to urgently pray for the immediate construction needs of the school. Through a powerful miracle of God’s goodness and love, HE HAS PROVIDED!!!
Many of our next-step construction needs have been met in such a way that we are going to be able to open the school totally giving praise to God for what ONLY God can do. We still have many more needs and areas to pray for, but I must give Glory to God for He has provided, yet again, for our needs!! Thank you for praying and please continue to pray and tell others about what God is doing in Palacaguina.

Here are the next areas we need your prayers for:

Our Greatest need is still monthly support. We gained $300 in monthly support in October. Leaving a gap of only $1,400 to be fully funded. Please pray about how God can use you in meeting this need either personally or encouraging someone to get involved.
Need $1,700 to install internet for the school.
Need $3,000 to finish parking area and install bike racks for the school.
Need $6,000 to furnish two Bible School classrooms
Need $2,000 to provide projectors for preschool classrooms
Need $20,000 to finish 2nd floor of Admin building
God is still bigger than these needs and we need you to be the hands and feet of Christ. Won’t you join us? Or maybe even get your work group or church group to sponsor one of these areas as a Christmas project. Consider the impact of partnering with us in monthly or one-time giving and most especially in prayer. Together, we can reach the children, families and community of Palacaguina with the life-changing message of the Gospel through an education and the love of Jesus Christ.

If you have not yet read Amy Gilson’s hilariously funny and witty account of her September trip to Palacaguina, I strongly encourage you to read it. See what a trip to Palacaguina is like from the heartfelt account of a wonderful story-teller. Read Amy’s story HERE:

What an amazing month October has been. The sidewalks for the preschool have been completed. The much needed stairs to the office have been built. Two of four required safety fences are finished. And, the roof over the administrative offices and bathrooms is done!! We also passed our national inspection. What a productive month it has been.

Once again, our prayers for the Lord to send laborers is being answered. Three World Race Teams arrived in October and have been working to help complete the school. These teams have been cleaning and preparing the preschool and area for inspection, painting metal poles for fences and beams for a roof, and carrying 100’s of 5-gallon buckets filled with cement to pour the floor of the admin roof. Such hard work, but what a great reward they shall receive. We are extremely grateful for these amazing workers who God has sent into our field to labor.

We continue to purge and prepare for our family’s move to Nicaragua. Preparations seem endless, but every day we get a few steps closer to Nicaragua. More boxes are being filled and our furniture continues to disappear as it is sold. The whole family is feeling the transition as we get closer. Financially, God has wonderfully provided for our move. In July, we had a deficit in our finances for the actual move to Nicaragua with no clear understanding of how to bridge the gap. I am happy to say, due to a generous and timely gift from our church here in Austin, the deficit is no more. Thank you Jesus!! And we are looking forward to seeing friends and family in December as we return to Arkansas for the Christmas Season.

Through God’s grace, we will continue to construct Phase 1 of the school. We are absolutely focused on finishing the Admin building which will include the library, additional classrooms for a Bible School now and 1st – 4th grade in the future, a teacher’s area and offices. I plan to be on the ground in Nicaragua within a few months and I am looking forward to being more directly involved in the day-to-day tasks of building and directing the school. There is so much to do and I hope you are as passionate about the opportunities to fulfill the Great Commission as we are.

Please continue to pray for us regarding our support in Nicaragua. This is a very big part of my prayers lately. As I shared in the last update, my company will not allow me to work from Nicaragua, so, we are seeking God to understand what this means. Does this mean, I need to find a different job (actively seeking) that will allow me to earn an income or does God desire us to raise our personal support? Our heart is to fund the school first and we know God has a plan. We rest assured knowing God has called us to Palacaguina and believe God will provide, but we want to be good stewards and do everything we can to ensure we are working hard to honor God in this calling. Please join us in praying for God’s will in this area or our journey.

We are now officially on the missions wall of North Little Rock Fellowship Bible Church! I have to give thanks to God for this wonderful church. They have committed to partnering with us on this journey to reach Nicaragua with the Gospel and we are so grateful to have them with us. NLRFBC has been an encouragement and blessing to our family and God has used them already to make an impact in Palacaguina and in our lives. Thank you Jesus for this long-term partnership!!

Thank you my friends and spiritual family for being with us in our journey. Whether you are partnering financially or in prayer, we are forever grateful for your love and support. God is good and I know He will bless you as you serve and honor Him with your lives. We love each and every one of you!!
