“How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy we have in the presence of our God

Because of you?” – 1st Thessalonians 3:9

Recently, a message on this verse it made me think of you; our partners and friends in this mission God has given us to Change a Generation.  I was overwhelmed with gratefulness for each of you as I thought through all God has done at PCA this year through you.  It is truly because of you we are so full of joy in the presence of our God.  This month, as we look through all God has done, I invite you to join me in the following prayer: “Father, in light of all you have done, what would you have me do?”

God is not through with you yet.  There is so much more for you to accomplish in His name on this earth.  As you look through all God has done in your life, we pray you will seek God to know what he is calling you to do next.  Is He asking you to reach out to a friend or loved one, to invite someone to church, to extend your grace of giving more to your local church or God’s global mission, or to spend more time in prayer and the Word.  Whatever God is calling you do to in light of all He has done, we pray you will answer His call in your life.

As a reflection of your impact, we wanted to share just a few of the amazing accomplishments God did through the ministry of Palacaguina Christian Academy and your faithfulness:

Provided 20 full-time jobs

Built a home for a pastor (Silvia) and her family

Replaced a destroyed roof for a local family with a newborn

Began food program and outreach to 69 children in the community of La Tuna

Provided food, household supplies, blankets, and electricity to an elderly couple

Provided backpacks and school supplies to more than 100 children who could not attend school otherwise

Opened 3rd grade and provided a year of education to 142 children from PreK3 to 3rd grade

Made exceptional progress on building a kitchen and cafeteria for PCA

Provided remote learning to students in the midst of COVID-19

Provided 119,584 meals and counting to families and children

Provided 2000 PPE masks to children and families

Rebuilt a home and roof of a family in La Tuna

Completed our 4th grade classroom

Above are several of the struggling families we helped with food and supplies.

Words cannot express how wonderful your response has been.  November saw the landfall of not one, but two Category 4 hurricanes passing directly over Palacaguina.  Thankfully, we are far enough inland and in the mountains to not be impacted by the wind, but we were most certainly impacted by the rains.  The night of Iota resulted in 14 families seeking refuge in the Baptist Church.  We were able to immediately respond with mattresses for the families to sleep on and followed up with food to feed them.  In addition, through your giving, we provided food for a week to 20 displaced families, repair for 1 of the homes damaged by the storm, and funding to repair the only bridge access to the community of La Pasuella.  In only 2 days you raised $3,285 in emergency relief to accomplish all of this.  And every recipient knows this relief comes in the name of Jesus!

Below is the damaged bridge and the displaced families we helped with mattresses.

Today just so happens to be the annual Giving Tuesday.  Thank you for all who have given so much to this ministry and we pray your giving today reflects the heart God has given you to make a difference for His kingdom.  Thank you for having a passion to use the resources and blessings God has provided to bless others and make a real difference in this world.  In all that Solomon found to be meaningless in this life, one thing he found meaningful was to do good.  I pray you will find meaning in doing good with what God has given you.

“I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live.”  Ecclesiastes 3:12

And if you would like to give to PCA, you can give here: -> GIVE

One way you can help support PCA is through your normal online shopping.  Simply shop at and AmazonSmile will donate to Arete Schools United, at no cost to you.  Already in 2020 Amazon Smile purchases have contributed $121.20.  Thats 24 months of tuition assistance to families.  A real impact for just your normal shopping.  Imagine if every PCA partner used Amazon Smile.

We are so close to having a fully functional kitchen at PCA.  This month we finished pouring the roof and have started working on the floors, doors and windows.  Next we intend to build out the kitchen and are on target for being able to use the kitchen starting January 15th.  The kitchen is already funded and we have already begun the next phase.  Thank you to all who are making this project possible.

Thank you for your prayers and giving to continuing making the schools physical growth a possibility!
